When it comes to above-ground water storage, polyethylene (PE) is the most cost-effective option for most applications, including rainwater collection. These water-storage tanks are produced with 100% virgin PE resin (which exceeds requirements for rainwater collection- it meets FDA specifications for potable water). The dark, opaque color is a surprisingly effective camouflage them blend in with the environment and helps prevent water-borne algae growth by blocking sun light.
